When Opportunity Knocks, Build a Steel Warehouse!

When opportunity knocks, Totalspan Ballarat delivers! So how exactly did the Ballarat Team provide exceptional service and standout building to their customer?

“We were approached by a local business identity, who was starting a new family business within the central Victoria region.

“They were looking for a team that could help from start to finish. Totalspan Ballarat offers just that, a full turnkey package, inclusive of design, supply, council approvals and the erection of the steel building.

“The scope was to deliver a gable roof building big enough to house their business vehicles, and large enough to use as a storage facility for their stock and sundry items,” explained Karen from Totalspan Ballarat.

Designing the Warehouse

The final creation was a 17m long, 12m wide and 5.4 m high warehouse, which included variable bay sizes to accommodate the customer’s desired clearance and roller door opening.

The custom designed commercial warehouse also featured an eave height of 5.4m, to maximise the storage capacity. Additionally, two large auto roller doors were included, and positioned at the gable end to allow easy access and manoeuvrability of vehicles.

Colours of Jasper and Dune were selected to nestle into the local bush surroundings.

Council and Building Approvals

“Several site visits were undertaken to ensure the building’s location complied with local planning and building regulations.

“The planning process was a relatively smooth process and the and building permit was obtained on behalf of the client,” said Karen.

The Construction Process

Due to Totalspan Ballarat’s sheer professionalism and extensive experience, the assembly of the building was completed in just 4 days.

“Totalspan Ballarat is in a unique position. We are the owners and the builders – and our team has over 60-years combined industry experience.

“With the ability to pre-assemble the kit at our workshop, the project was completed in just 4 days on site.

“The boys were particularly proud of the building as it was erected in record time, to an exceptionally high standard.”
